The community of Gourri located on the East side of the Troodos Mountain range on the foothills of the forest of Macheras at a distance of 35 kilometers from the capital, Nicosia. It has a rich geographical repousse with an average altitude of 900 meters. The highest peak is ‘’Moutti tis Roudkias’’ located above the ‘’Nero tou Romiou’’ opposite Kionia which are found 2 kilometers south of Macheras.The region is flooded with tributaries od the river Serrachi. Gouri borders with the villages: Kalo Chorio, Agio Epifanio, Framaka, Odou, Lazania and Fikardou. Archeological finds suggest its inhabitance since the 5th century B.C., while the use of the name seems to exist since 800A.D.
